The Shire of Wickepin is pleased to announce the appointment of David Burton as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Written expressions of interests are required to be submitted by the 12th March 2025 for the lease of portion of land Lot 9001, Curlew Way, Wickepin - Known as "English Land Estate" for cropping purposes.

In accordance with section 5.27 of the Local Government Act 1995 the Shire of Wickepin invites electors to attend the Annual General Meeting of Electors.

Invitation for Public Comments on Agroforestry/Tree Planting Proposal development application

It is hereby notified for public information, in accordance with section 87 of the Planning and Development Act 2005 that the Minister for Planning approved the Local Planning Scheme No. 4 Amendment No. 3

The Wickepin Shire is pleased to announce the successful application for funding through the Club Night Lights Program, which provides $14,309 towards the lighting upgrade at the Wickepin Tennis Club.

Written Submissions, amendments or further requests are invited on the Draft Local Heritage Survey (LHS). Responses due by close of business, 24th September 2024.

Public comment is invited on the received Planning Development Application proposing a Worker's Accommodation at Lot 55 Williams-Kondinin Rd, Wickepin.

Written submissions are invited on the proposed new Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2024, and Fencing Local Law 2024.

Wickepin Shire has activated a contingency plan to establish a temporary waste site for use by local residents.

Update – Fire at Wickepin Waste Site The Wickepin Waste has been closed since 5 January due to a fire. The waste site will remain closed to the public until it is determined to be safe for all users

The Yealering ablution block is closed until further notice. Construction of the new amenities will commence soon.

Due to seasonal conditions, the Shire of Wickepin would like to advise our local community that the "Prohibited Burning Period" is being brought forward to 1 November 2023 and will cease midnight 7 February 2024. This means that no burning in the open air may occur during the above mentioned period. This is in accordance with section 17 (7) & (8) of the Bush Fires Act 1954 and in accordance with delegated authority under section 17 (10) of the Bush Fires Act 1954. 💦 WICKEPIN AQUATIC CENTRE 💦 The Wickepin swimming pool will open for the 2023/2024 season on Wednesday 1 November 2023. The pool will be closed every second Tuesday from Tuesday 7 November 2023 except during VacSwim or Education Department swimming lessons. Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of Council will be held on Thursday 5 October 2023 in the Shire of Wickepin Council Chambers, 77 Wogolin Road, Wickepin commencing at 6.00pm.

The 2023 Senior Christmas Lunch will be held on Friday 1 December 2023 at the Wickepin Community Centre, commencing at 11.30am. The Seniors Christmas Lunch is an event our seniors look forward to every year. This year we are in need of some new volunteers. Please contact the Shire Office if you can help in anyway.
